30th September 2003 -- Pakaflex Pty Ltd completed today the purchase of Acan Plastics.  Managing Director of Pakaflex, Mr. Andrew Hamer said "The team has ensured that a very smooth transition has taken place, and we look forward to making sure that customers remain well looked after."

"I intend Pakaflex to fill a market niche in supplying dynamic service for the smaller users of packaging films and bags as we have so much more flexibility than our competitors and much better lead times than imports."

Pakaflex is wholly Australian owned and operated.  In addition to manufacturing, printing and bag-making a range of polyethylene films, Pakaflex also supplies a broader range of film and bag products which are either manufactured or distributed by Pakaflex. 

Repeating his previous comments, Mr. Hamer concluded "We aim to be more flexible, more responsive and eventually more innovative than our competitors."
